Former State Representative Sal Santoro

Sal Santoro of Florence served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2007 until 2022. He served as chairman of the House Budget Review Subcommittee on Transportation, which played a key role in crafting the Commonwealth’s biennial road plan.

Santoro represented the 60th House District, which includes part of Boone County. In addition to his previous chairmanship, Santoro also served on the Appropriations and Revenue, Banking and Insurance, Licensing and Occupations, and Transportation Committees.

Santoro is the President of Santoro Electric Company Inc., and is a former Kentucky State Trooper. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and a graduate degree from Xavier University.

Santoro is involved with numerous civic and non-profit organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center and Visitor Bureau and formerly on the board of the Florence Fire Protection District. He is also involved with the OKI (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana) Regional Council Government, which brings together leaders from government, business and civic institutions to address various policy issues, and is a member of the Association of Builders and Contractors.

Santoro is a member of the Knights of Columbus organization, as well as the St. Paul Parish in Florence. He and his wife Sharon have three children and eleven grandchildren, and reside in Union.
