Representative Ken Upchurch

Representative - District 52

Representative Ken Upchurch serves the 52nd House District, which is comprised of McCreary and Wayne counties and a portion of Pulaski County. Upchurch served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1999 to 2010. He returned to the House in 2012 and has since taken on many legislative roles, including a term as House Minority Whip. Currently, he chairs the House Budget Review Subcommittee on Transportation, which oversees financial matters relating to aviation, roads, infrastructure, commercial water travel, highway safety, the Kentucky State Police, automobiles, traffic regulations, tunnels, and driver’s testing.

Upchurch is an outspoken advocate for Kentucky families, working to ensure the state invests taxpayer dollars wisely in ways that will continue to make Kentucky the best place to live and work. He is an outspoken advocate for investing in infrastructure, recognizing that quality of life is driven by access to safe, dependable roads and bridges.

In addition to his role as a state representative, Ken works as an insurance agent for Upchurch Insurance and Financial Services, Inc. Rep. Upchurch graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He, his wife Melissa, and son Jackson live in Monticello, while daughter Chelsea and her family live nearby.

In addition to the Transportation budget subcommittee, Upchurch also serves as a member on the Transportation Committee and the Appropriation and Revenue Committee.
