Jim Gray has served as Kentucky’s Secretary of Transportation for more than five years now in Governor Andy Beshear’s administration.
It’s just one of several public service roles he’s taken on, including two terms as mayor of Lexington. And, he’s no stranger to the construction industry or leadership, serving as the CEO and chairman of Gray Construction, which consistently ranks among the top builders in the United States.
For the Transportation Cabinet, he has worked to focus the agency on strategic planning and to create a culture of safety across all processes – including improved safety for the traveling public through everything from community outreach to construction of roads and bridges that are well-designed, well-built and well-maintained.
