Maegan Mansfield, PE, serves as Chief Growth Officer for both BFW Engineering and Marcum Engineering, where she directs strategic pursuits, business development, client engagement, and growth strategy. Her engineering career spans leadership roles in local, state, and federal government—including the U.S. Department of Energy—as well as private-sector projects. She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering, graduating cum laude with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky, and was a KYTC scholarship recipient.
Maegan has been instrumental in advancing infrastructure initiatives that drive regional and statewide economic development. BFW led three successful Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) grants in 2021, 2022, and 2023, totaling more than $14 million for maritime capital projects in Western Kentucky. She played a key role in planning, engineering, and grant administration for these projects and most recently, Maegan has been working on the Riverport West expansion, which strengthens Kentucky’s inland waterway network alongside many other riverport projects ongoing across the state.
BFW is also leading the Department of Energy’s Paducah Site Reindustrialization Study, funded through a DOE Office of Environmental Management grant awarded to the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. Maegan serves as Program Manager for the study, “Preparing the Roadmap for the Future,” which delivers a comprehensive strategy for site reuse, utility and infrastructure planning, workforce development, and land transfer—laying the foundation for regional reindustrialization and advancing opportunities in next-generation nuclear economic development. Together, the Riverport West expansion, Greater Paducah Economic Development’s Triple Rail Mega Site, and the DOE Reindustrialization Study form a strategic corridor for Paducah’s future, integrating infrastructure planning, design, and implementation to position the region as a hub for industrial growth.
Maegan’s community and board leadership include serving as Vice Chair of Greater Paducah Economic Development, and holding board roles with the Paducah Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee, Kentuckians for Better Transportation, and the University of Kentucky Alumni Association Board of Directors. She was named an Outstanding Member of Leadership Paducah Class 35, is a graduate of Leadership Kentucky Class 2022, and was honored as Young Leader of Western Kentucky in 2023 by the Paducah Sun and Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. Her past leadership includes serving as President of both the United Way of Western Kentucky and the Charity League of Paducah, and as a member of the Paducah Bank Advisory Board.
A licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, Maegan lives in Paducah with her husband and two children and remains a passionate advocate for her community’s future.
