Jennifer Kirchner is an accomplished government relations and communications professional. In 2020 she joined Kentuckians for Better Transportation as Executive Director, where she leads a diverse membership association to educate and advocate for a safe and sustainable multi-modal transportation network. In doing so, she works closely with federal, state, and local governments to advocate for funding across all modes.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, she holds a bachelor of science (BS) degree in biology from the Indiana University, Bloomington. Her career path led her to work in biotech research at start-ups and large
pharmaceutical companies in the Boston area. There she investigated therapeutics for genetic and neurodegenerative diseases, including the use of stem cells for cancer treatments. In 2009, Jennifer moved with her family to Danville, KY where she discovered a passion for community development. She began working in tourism and economic development. Her work focused on strategic planning, marketing, community
engagement and asset development.
Jennifer’s professional accomplishments include being a graduate of Leadership Kentucky, the UK Institute of Economic Development, and the Harwood Institute Public Innovators. She also serves on the Board of
Directors for KY Association of Manufacturers. And in 2024, Jennifer was named a Notable Women in Kentucky Politics and Government by the KY Gazette.
