Christopher Evilia, AICP, has been a professional transportation planner since 1995 with tenures at the
Tuscaloosa, Alabama MPO, Waco, Texas MPO and currently at the Lexington, Kentucky Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. Mr. Evilia is the planning manager and director of the Lexington Area MPO overseeing a planning area covering Fayette & Jessamine Counties. The MPO provides long-range transportation policy direction and coordinates project development for regionally significant transportation projects. Prior to coming to Lexington, Mr. Evilia was the Director of the Waco, Texas MPO for 18 years.
Mr. Evilia previously served as the Chair of the Association of MPOs (AMPO) Technical Committee and as the Executive Director of the Texas Association of MPOs (TEMPO). Mr. Evilia also served on the Texas State Freight Advisory Committee as an Ex-Offico Member. Mr. Evilia currently serves on the AMPO Board of Directors.
Mr. Evilia is a graduate of the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and received his professional certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2001.
