Andy Rush has worked for the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) since 2006. Prior to being named Transportation Director in 2021, Andy served as a Transportation Planner at KIPDA focused on travel modeling, traffic forecasting, corridor studies, and other long-range planning activities. In his capacity as Transportation Director, Andy oversees the coordination of the KIPDA Metropolitan Planning Organization’s bi-state long-range planning efforts and Transportation Improvement Program. He also manages the KIPDA Area Development District’s Rural Transportation Planning Program, the agency’s GIS Department, and the Every Commute Counts Regional Rideshare Program.
Andy is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and MBA. He is a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky. Prior to joining KIPDA, Andy worked for Norfolk Southern Corporation. Andy lives in Shelby County with his wife Heather and 10-year-old son Logan.
